About
Hertfordshire based musician, Michael King is an acoustic guitarist and singer from Hitchin. A self-penned singer/songwriter, he is available for private events including garden parties, pubs, clubs, stadiums, charity and corporate outings performing a number of acoustic covers and original songs.
The last few years, Michael has been busy performing throughout the UK, from being the resident musician at Saracens Rugby Club, playing Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Victorious Festival and of course his favourite whisky bar in Hitchin where it all started, The Angels' Share.
He has been joined over the last few years by good friend / producer David Hayzen on guitar / backing vocals and in 2024 formed indie/rock outfit Escape Route with good friends Gaz on bass, Chivs on drums alongside Dave on guitar:
Since the release Michael's debut EP 'Mirrored Smile' which achieved a modest position at number 38 in the iTunes singer songwriter chart, a particular highlight was an acoustic session with radio presenter Mike Naylor at BBC Three Counties Radio. He is now finalising the debut album for Escape Route due to be released in 2025.
